When you brought that plant for me
Last summer
I thought; poor little thing
It would die the very summer.
But, but it survived
The entire summer
With its head rising up
Just like our love.
I wondered once, I wondered twice,
I wondered yet a hundred times.
Summer bade a goodbye,
Came monsoon with its thunderous cry!
The great grapevine fell to death,
Many trees went to bed
Forever!
But the plant you brought for me,
It survived
The entire monsoon
With its head rising up,
Just like our love,
I wondered once, I wondered twice,
I wondered yet a thousand times.
Monsoon passed at last
Winter came a bit fast
The miser chilly wind
Made the plant parts cry in pain
But still it survived
The entire cold winter
With its head rising up
Just like our love
I wondered once, I wondered twice,
I wondered yet a million times.
You had left me forever
Today as tears refuse to
Roll down my cheeks
I wonder once, I wonder twice,
I wonder yet a zillion times,
That life is mortal,
But love is not.
