ActingOut

ActingOut is a unique program of the Youth Initiatives Office of Monadnock Family Services for Monadnock area teens. The mission of the program is to cultivate resiliency, social skills and healthy development in youth through theater training. The program offers after school and in school groups for those interested in the performing arts and/or those looking for self-expression and personal growth.
Cheshire County Coalition for Tobacco Free Communities

The mission of the Cheshire Coalition for Tobacco-Free Communities is to work with youth and communities to create a tobacco-free environment.
The Coalition’s goals are:
- To prevent the initiation of tobacco use among young people;
- To promote quitting among adults and young people;
- And to eliminate exposure to secondhand smoke
The Coalition addresses its mission and goals through a number of initiatives, including school-based and community health and prevention education, adult and teen tobacco cessation programs, vendor compliance checks, Smokeless Saturday court diversion program, local and state policy efforts, and alternative tobacco-free activities for youth.
Join 4-H

4-H offers a wide variety of opportunity for all youth between the ages of 5-18. The 4-H program is open to all interested youth. Expectations for 4-H membership are a balance between the 4-H project work, involvement in their local 4-H groups and clubs, participation in 4-H activities and events, and working towards improving one’s personal growth. You can enroll in 4-H anytime, but September and October start the 4-H year.
Keene Family YMCA

Teen Center (HUB)(Grades 6th-8th)
The Teen Center provides teens a safe, cool place to go after school. We provide structured and unstructured activities that help develop "strong kids". Lots of new and exciting indoor and outdoor activities will happen this year! Program is open Monday thru Friday from 2:30 - 6:00pm on all school days. YMCA Membership is required.
Keene Parks & Recreation

Parks & Rec Afterschool Program: CATCH Kids Club
Now in its 5th year our CATCH Kids Club offers children ages 6-11 (1st thru 5th graders) the chance to participate in a fun, healthy environment. Every day your child will participate in non or low competitive physical activities and learn good nutrition behavior choices.
The program will be held every Monday through Friday from 3:30-5:30 from September 8 - June 4. The program will not be held during school vacation, but there are other program options available at the Recreation Center. The program fee is $165 for the school year and may be paid in three installments of $55.
Children may ride the bus from most Keene elementary schools to the Recreation Center daily. Contact your school to make arrangements for the ride.

Many Options Afterschool Program

MANY Options is a non-profit program for students in fifth through ninth grades aimed at giving youths positive experiences during after school hours. MANY Options is a fun, safe alternative to going home after school where youth are able to indulge their interests, develop new ones, and build relationships with each other and caring adults in a structured environment.
Monadnock Humane Society

Interested in helping to build a more humane community? Become a Volunteer at the Monadnock Humane Society and be a part of something wonderful! Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age to volunteer at MHS. Volunteers, ages 14 and 15, must be accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older at all times. Likewise, Volunteers are required to attend trainings specific to areas of interest to ensure safe and appropriate animal handling, personal safety, disease control and proper animal cleaning protocols.

jessicap@humanecommunity.org. MHS staff will work with teachers, program coordinators, and guardians/caregivers to establish an appropriate program for interested groups and/or individuals.Stonewall Farm

Volunteer Opportunities at Stonewall Farm:
Stonewall Farm seeks individuals interested in helping out in their garden, farm stand, dairy barn, office, and more. Some experience in a farm and/or office setting is preferred, but they will train the right individual! Volunteers typically commit to a minimum of 2 hours per week, and all volunteers must be at least 14 years of age.
